A selection of quotations for these troubled times

By Sean Nitchmann

[Performer has large non-descript book and reads the passages taped into pages. Passages are read with increasing intensity. Performer swats at imaginary fly where indicated with increasing intensity. Many of the words are invented, so a couple of read-thru’s are highly recommended before performance. ]

These are trying, yes, difficult times. Armies are amassing on the ground. Rumors of war are in the air. Sound bites of war fill the waves. I have selected some excerpts from The Book (Hold up the book) to help put things in perspective. A selection of quotations for these troubled times.

Lecivians 5:19

… and Izaius said unto him, “whomsoever shall persificate, shall wield the all-mighty axe and thusly vanquish his enemy. [Swat] Not through inspectation, but through kindness and gentleness of nature”

Endoclesus 2:9

… and they feared the great eye as it followed them. For mine is the spectacle that speaks no purpose, and appeases no will. Flee and I flee with thee as thee doest flee. [Swat] For thou cannot hide from thyself when thou knowest what is true in thy heart. Forgive thy aggressors and make only of peace, or be smote in a wink of the all hearing eye.

Huberis 4:12

And the King of the Drama-dins decreeth thus; Lay down thy swords and study not of War! [Swat] For no longer shall my people be abjecticated to the lust of power plied to them by their rulers. Return to thy stoned hearth and make with haste. [Swat] For no man shouldst perish to the will of powers whom art so pickle… fickle… whom art so fickle.

Pegotomy 8:13

Delicate are the small beasts of the land. Their soldiferousness shall enrich the soul. Be gentle to them and do not …

[Performer watches fly land somewhere on stage and kills it with The Book]

do not appliticate unto them as you hath done to thine enemy for thou shalt perish in a justly manner. Their righteousness is copasetic.

And a passage that is my personal favorite…

Rethafranklins 24:7

Respect. Respect of thy sisters and too of thy brothers though they hath dissed thou. Envidicate towards them and thou shalt be envidicated. Be spare of the wrathinimum and and you shall be endowed long… with joy. Lift up thy divine rod and bespoke whence thou art bespoken to. Just a little bit, ooh, just a little bit.

I hope that I’ve helped you distrundicate your own resolve in these perilous times with this, my own Faith Based Initiative. Thank you.
