I can't STAND Mean Girls!
MIKE
That bad, huh?
JEFF
It's all this petty, bitchy, little
bullshit all the time, and talking
about people behind their backs,
and behind each others backs, and
acting like little divas, like they
think they're better than everybody
else, just because they're good
looking or something. What the
hell?
MIKE
I think that's the whole point.
That's how they're supposed to act.
JEFF
It's not how anybody's SUPPOSED to
act! What about being nice to each
other once in awhile, and sharing
and cooperating and not being an
asshole all the time.
MIKE
That wouldn't be much of a movie,
would it?
JEFF
It'd be a TERRIBLE movie!
MIKE
Then why do you want it to be that
way?
JEFF
What, like I'm the only one?
Everybody wants to be treated like
a decent human being. Are you
saying you don't?
MIKE
Not when I go to the movie theatre.
JEFF
When you go to the movies, you want
people to be rude to you, and talk
during the film and put popcorn
down your shirt?
MIKE
No, I don't want to be treated
badly AT the movies, but I want the
people IN the movies to treat each
other badly. It's called conflict.
JEFF
Yeah, I know what it's called, I'm
not an idiot.
MIKE
But you'd rather have movies with
no conflict?
JEFF
[No!] Without conflict there'd be
nothing to watch. It'd just be a
bunch of nice people sittin' around
shootin' the shit for two hours.
MIKE
And yet your big problem with the
movie "Mean Girls" is that the
girls aren't nice to each other.
JEFF
No! My problem with MEAN GIRLS is
that they're not nice to me. I
haven't SEEN the movie. It's
supposed to be good, though.
MIKE
So you can't stand... mean girls.
JEFF
No! They drive me nuts.
MIKE
And this has nothing to do with the
movie.
JEFF
There's more to life than movies,
Mike!
