"Miss Valentine"
A song written and performed by Cory Capron. Assisted off stage by Jane Jones.

How have you been?
It's been too long a time
I've been working at the old hardware store
Hey are you still Miss Valentine?
So much has changed... all the night clubs have closed down
But to my disappointment
You are still hanging around

Could have been a queen
But now you're just a concubine
To a foolish neurotic
Who tries to make lead into wine
And you know that love... and pity aren't the same thing
Why don't you fly away?
Has he already clipped your wings?

And if it's still your cup of tea
Sweet Angelee...
Before it's all over
Will you save a dance for me?

Just like the good times
On 5th Avenue in the rain
Where people mind their own business
All wearing straightjackets and sword canes
All the livestock bars... roar when Sid walks in
With you under his arm
Everybody is looking

I've been sailing
Towards a waterfall
Our eyes meet from across the room
As the bartender gives the last call
And we meet again...under the awning as the rain pores down
Sid's talking business grapevine with some people
As I offer you my lucky towel

And is it still your cup tea?
Sweet Angelee...
Before it's all over
Will you save a dance for me?

I can't believe you
Whatever made you become...
Everything you were against
I never thought you would succumb
If only you could turn... all of that knowledge around
Take a good look in the mirror
See the hypocrite that I found

Don't get me wrong
I'm not looking to sport a fling
I just hate to see you go this way
When you could have changed everything
And you know that love... and pity aren't the same thing
Why don't you fly away?
Has he already clipped your wings?

So if your still who you used to be
Sweet Angelee
Then before it's all over
Please go and set yourself free
And if it's still your cup of tea
Sweet Angelee...
Before it's all over
Will you save a dance for me?

Before it's all over
Will you dance with me?

AUTHOR'S NOTES:
At the line "As I offer you my lucky towel" I ran over and gave Jane my door prize that I had won, a blanket that everyone kept calling a towel. Is that a new record for fastest door prize use?

"Miss Valentine" debuted June 7, 2002, performed by Cory Capron. Assisted by Jane Jones.
