SASQUATCH AND MEANIE, TAKE TWO

[Adam/SASQUATCH and Carolyn/MEANIE stand side by side, a little bit apart, directing their lines out toward the audience as if they were facing each other.]
SASQUATCH: You remember yesterday, when we were walking down the street and this guy was walking the other way, and kicked your foot, like, totally on purpose?
MEANIE: No.
SASQUATCH: No, really. We had just been to Prairie Lights. You bought that book, and we left to go--
MEANIE: No.
[SASQUATCH turns to deliver the rest of his lines directly at MEANIE.]
SASQUATCH: Look, Meanie. You mean you can't even remember that we--
MEANIE: No.
SASQUATCH: Do you remember yesterday?
MEANIE: No.
SASQUATCH: Do you remember me?
MEANIE: No.
SASQUATCH: What about--
MEANIE: No.
SASQUATCH: Or--
MEANIE: No.
[SASQUATCH turns to speak.]
MEANIE: No.
[SASQUATCH stands there perturbed, and then an idea dawns. He takes a breath and starts his line.]
SASQUATCH: I was besprised and becited when the wella blan--
MEANIE (emphatic): No!
[QUICK BLACKOUT.]
