Title: A Sappy Poem-Thang
Author: Jessica Ahrendt

(Lights Up)
WHY DO I FEEL LIKE I NEED YOUR LOVE?
When all I have to do is step outside
and the breeze kisses my neck and swirls through my hair,
and the grass tickles my toes,
and raindrops dance upon my skin,
all with a gentleness that seems unknown to you.
The clouds part and a single ray of sunshine teases me.
I smile and then I laugh.
A true laugh one that makes me feel as if I could die right then and have no regrets,
The same way that you make me laugh, when you don't try.
I laugh at my own silliness, spinning alone through the trees, hoping that no one can see.
Then the sunlight vanishes,
and loneliness strips the laughter from me,
and I long to sit and be with you.
But then a strong gust of wind wraps itself around me and holds me tight,
tighter than your arms ever have.
SoWHY DO I FEEL LIKE I NEED YOUR LOVE?
I am bewildered becauseI do.
