LIGHTS

ARNOLD
Somebody left the window open to my heart. It rained all night and soaked
my aortal carpet right through.

WILLIS
It was I that left the window open to his heart. But he deserved it. He
walked right in through the front door of my soul without taking his shoes
off and tracked mud all over the core of my being.

ARNOLD
But it was he that left the seat to my spirit up so that when I entered
the stall of zealousness to relieve my sentient being I fell in.

WILLIS
That may be, but I recall a certain someone who forgot to lock the doggie
door to their inner beast and let it jump up on all their quintessential
neighbors.

ARNOLD
Quintessential neighbors who come to the block barbecue without bringing
anything and never return your garden tools all summer.

WILLIS
Garden tools that I needed to mend the wounds bestowed on my soul by you.

ARNOLD
It appears that the window to my heart will now be locked indefinitely,
and the chia pet that rests on its window sill will continue to grow until
one day it is ready to blossom again.

WILLIS
And on that day the canary of my essence will sing for you. And the doves
of my soul will be released to fly away and rejoice in your fortune.
