MISCELLANEOUS PIECES - [Fall 1988]:
[These pieces are mentioned in a DI article dated 10/3/88
describing "a recent evening at No Shame". They must have been from either the September 16th
or September 23th performance. (I was at the September 30th performance and don't remember
any of these pieces ---Jeff)]
A recent evening at No Shame began with the introduction of a young couple, "who were married
today at the courthouse." They proceeded to enact the garter belt routine. The overflowing
crowd of 200 roared with approval. ---Kevin Goulding
- Branko Dimitrijevic -
Six Pack Show
(Branko Dimitrijevic)
- Jon Price (lyrics by Edgar Allan Poe) - Annabelle Lee (Jon Price, sung to his own accompaniment)
- a musical skit involving a confrontation between two men for a woman's affections. The men
frolicked about embodying images, such as butterflies and frogs, as the woman sang. The piece
ended with them all joining forces in song, only the words were nonsensical and unintelligible.
- Brad Schnurr's portrayal of a little boy trying to figure out how his brother got lipstick on his
underwear.
[This piece was performed in 1988 (possibly Spring of 1988, though.)]

Iowa Playwrights Festival
A Reading of Ristau's No Shame Scripts
Saturday, April 29, 1989
- [???]
"This was the year they were going to toss me out [of the workshop],
and Bob had said to put all my no shame pieces together and call it a play
and maybe that would help me in their consideration of body of work,
so I was writing a bunch of things that might be no shames, and he never went so he wouldn't know."
---Ristau
[Randy Rollison, artistic director of the H.O.M.E. for Creative Arts
was one of the festival guests in attendance at the reading and offered Todd an internship to start
No Shame Theatre in New York.]

[This is the one that he broke the piano on. The applause was fantastic, and in the black out he went to push his normal piano stool back to stand and take a bow, I think, but he'd forgotten he wasn't on a wheeled stool, he was in a folding chair and so the piano fell backwards from his push, since he couldn't move. There was this horrible crash and the audience went silent.---Ristau]
