SIXTH SEASON - SPRING SEMESTER 2003

Friday, January 24th, 2003 - [the couches - Simons Center for the Arts]
first No Shame of the season
Our first week of the reincarnation of No Shame in Charleston was a huge success. We opened with one of our freshmen John Markowski reading "The Unicorn" written by Jeff Goode and performed at the first No Shame in Iowa. Then we went on to present several poems, a play, a monologue, faculty impressions, and a beautiful song. We had 19 people there, but the word is out now, and we're expecting many more to come this week. Thank you for your support.

I want to mention that several people left before Chris's monologue, but he was able to use that as a stimulus into his at first depressing then sort of tragicomic monologue to the point where some of us weren't sure if he had started the monologue or was just venting about these people leaving. It turned out to be very powerful. Also, the "Short Attention Span Theatre" was used from the first aid kit. Thank you Howard and Jesse. The piece is hilarious and the performance by Aiden and Will was great. It was script in hand, so there wasn't as much movement as the piece allows for, but I believe that the audience enjoyed it.
